The Hospital, located in Pattamadai, the birthplace of Swami Sivananda in the state of Tamil Nadu in south India, has a number of medical facilities to serve the many patients who come for quality health care at a very nominal charge. The 100-bed ward for in-patients, dispensary, laboratory, X-ray unit, ECG, sonogram services, and emergency care are very clean and up to date. A set-up for rural care exists in which a circuit is done of various villages to provide medical services, and the same villages are all visited once again within a month. Dental care is also provided. On average 400 patients are attended each day, and there are 10 doctors and more than 70 medical and non-medical staff members on site. Specialists in surgery, cardiology, internal medicine, gynecology skin care/leprosy treatment, and eye treatment are also available. The Hospital depends on donations from well wishers and devotees.
