In many aphorisms, Swami Sivananda reminded us of the importance of prayer. Gurudev Maharaj taught, "Prayer is a mighty spiritual force. It is spiritual food for the Soul, a spiritual tonic. Prayers are powerful spiritual currents. There is nothing as purifying as prayer." Gurudev also said, "Prayer is an invocation, a calling forth of spiritual forces ever flowing through the human heart, mind and soul. It is a great spiritual force that is as real as the force of gravity or attraction." For devotees it is a call to the divine for help in distress, and giving the opportunity to God to comfort and protect the devotee. It is a tradition in the Sivananda Ashram to pray for all. At the special request of devotees from India and abroad, during the evening satsang prayers can be offered for their well being by Ashram residents and guests. The Lord's grace is invoked for those in distress, for early recovery for the sick, and peace and health for all. If you would like residents and guests of Sivananda Ashram to pray for you, please kindly email us your request and we will hand it to those responsible for arranging and leading prayers at the evening satsang. Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti |
