Swami Sivananda's Yoga of Synthesis does not exclude
any path. Although the four yogic paths of karma, bhakti, jnana and raja
are the best known, there are many other practices that could be integrated
into yogic sadhana. Gurudev was a shrewd judge of character; he could
see that people were attracted to various different practices, and that
no one path could be prescribed for all. He taught that any practice,
pursued with devotion and sincerity, could lead to the ultimate goal.
The following yoga sadhanas (japa yoga, kundalini yoga, nada yoga, laya
yoga, tantra yoga, hatha yoga and kriya yoga) are also practices that
Gurudev advocated, and excerpts from his writings on these particular
yogas are presented below for the interested reader.
